Summary

The Transportation Infrastructure and Systems Engineering program is based on two ideas. First, engineers are responsible for life-cycle of the designed system. Second, engineers must be capable of optimizing the total system performance of large-scale public work projects, including their social and environmental impacts, in a way that addresses the critical issues of infrastructure behavior, deterioration science, and structural rehabilitation. As a result, the infrastructure program maintains pedagogical and practical links to Environmental Engineering and Systems Engineering.

This degree is part of the Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program through Virginia Tech. For more Information about the Program please visit their website http://www.eng.vt.edu/cgep/
