SummaryThe Lean Systems Certificate will equip students with the necessary tools to effectively lead, implement, and manage lean efforts within their organization. Students will learn how to decrease system response time so that their organizational production systems are able to immediately change and adapt to market demands. Students will also be exposed to the full capability of the lean philosophy, which involves creating a culture of observing and learning in order to promote continuous improvement. Through completion of this certificate students will gain a greater understanding of the primary components comprising lean management production processes in a wood product manufacturing organization. Through greater understanding of Lean Systems, the student will gain the skill set necessary to oversee the production of high quality products with half the effort, space, inventory, and product development time, compared with traditional mass production.
